On Bi+ Visibility Day, the International PRIDE Centre proudly joins the global community in celebrating the vibrant, diverse, and resilient identities within the bisexual+ spectrum. Since its founding in 1999 by three passionate bisexual activists, this day has grown into a powerful moment of recognition and solidarity for bisexual, pansexual, fluid, and queer individuals.
At the PRIDE Centre, we embrace and uplift every member of the SOGIESC family. We know that bisexuality is real, valid, and beautifully complex. Yet too often, bi+ people face erasure, misconceptions, and exclusion even within LGBTQ+ spaces. Today, we challenge those narratives. We affirm that bisexual identities are not a phase, not confusion, and certainly not invisible.
We also use this day as a reminder of the need to enhance and increase protection and safety for our bi siblings, and all LGBTQIA+ siblings, living in settings of displacement, conflict, and in countries and communities where they are not always free to raise their voices.
This day is about raising awareness educating the public about the lived experiences of bi+ people. It’s about promoting visibility and inclusion, ensuring that bisexual individuals are seen, supported, and celebrated. And it’s about fostering community—creating space for bi+ folks and their allies to come together, share stories, and find strength in one another. This is all the more critical in the countries where we work where hostility to and discrimination against bi people – and all SOGIESC minorities – is all too common.
To everyone who identifies as bisexual, pansexual, fluid, or queer: we see you, we honour you, and we stand with you. Your truth matters. Your joy matters. Your presence enriches our movement and our world.
Let’s keep building a future where every identity under the rainbow is embraced fully and fiercely.
Happy Bi+ Visibility Day!
